The Wigwam to become a center for Community Enrichment & Job Training

The Wigwam complex was home to the second largest high school gym in the nation and was the center of attraction for the greater Madison County community, especially for hosting Anderson High School basketball games. The vision for its new role includes hosting a diverse array of sports, community activities, health opportunities, and workforce education and training. 

The Wigwam Complex, Anderson, IndianaThe revitalization will offer 135,000 square feet of usable space, including:

  • Over 12,000 square feet of vocational/industrial small business space
  • An “at capacity” 9,000-seat arena for sports and entertainment uses
  • An 840-seat auditorium that can be divided into four practicum spaces for the arts
  • 20,000 square foot health clinic space (administration building)
  • 20,000 square feet of education and training classrooms (administration building)

The rebirth of this iconic venue will build on Anderson's growth for decades to come.

Former Track & Field Revitalized to Fully Furnished Housing and Services

Residents will be able to enjoy a variety of services and amenties within the building and complex. Meridian Health Services is the service provider, and seeks to connect our residents with vital services, such as Social Security and Medical services. A Meridian Health Services office will be located in the clubhouse.

Wigwam Talent & Development Center: Resurrecting the Heart of the Community

In addition to job training, community members will have access to the Jane Pauley Community Center, Visual & Performing Arts Center, and Culinary Center.
